Oracle Application Server Administrator Location - Edmonton, Alberta Job Type Permanent, Full Time Position Summary Our client is seeking technical analysts for our Web Administration team to provide expertise and assist in expanding our utilization of Oracle Fusion Middleware products and web-_base_d technologies. The Web Administration team is responsible for implementing, managing and maintaining an efficient and effective web mid-tier environment _base_d on the Oracle Application Server, running on a Linux platform. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Participate on the design and implementation of the web infrastructure blueprint. Collaborating with both the Technical Services and Application Development teams in the design of web application environments utilizing Web Services, Portal, directory structure, load-balancing, clustering/fail-over, backup/recovery, and Application Integration Services technologies. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, upgrades, backup and recovery of the web application environment (Oracle Application Server 10g, RedHat Linux). Responsible for Oracle Application Server product and security patch management. Produces web server log reports _base_d on business and internal reporting requirements. Participate in web environment performance and stress testing. Validates application packaging and deployment practices according to J2EE standards. Implement, manage and enforcement of server-side security and encryption. Research, evaluation and implementation of new web security policies. Administration of the technical components of Oracle Identity Management products that support the vision of the client enterprise, single-sign-on architecture for user authentication and authorization. On a 24-hrs, on-call support rotational. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Minimum two years experience with Oracle Application Server (OAS) and Fusion Middleware technology. Minimum two-year technical diploma (or equivalent) from a recognized post-secondary institution. Demonstrated organization, analytical and technical problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. A proven commitment to personal achievement, high sense of urgency, team success, and ultimately customer support.
