During the last week I had the opportunity to test the Proffesional new version of SUSE 9.1. As is usually the first impression is often Conference Organizers Poland Mortgage house rental the most important, I was afraid to open the box. Collected a little courage I opened it. I could not go with admiration. SUSE AG postarala really to give SUSE. Yes it should appear each boxed version of GNU / Linux. I would greatly appreciate any book recommendations you folks could provide on Sendmail. I've been thrust into an admin position for a medium sized business and need to learn Sendmail among other things like DNS, DHCP etc. The Unix portion of our network is running all of the above services, however the previous admin followed no coherent standards or conventions nor did he document any of his work. After reading the some HOWTO's and quite a few man pages, I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to need to do alot of rebuilding. I need to know how to setup, configure, maintain and troubleshoot Sendmail. My knowledge of Unix is a 3 or 4 on a scale of 1 - 10, 10 being a guru. Also, if there are some good, basic system admin books out there, let me know. Thanks in advance, Jeremy

Also, if there are some good, basic system admin books out there, let me know. Depends on your OS - you can read anything from unix for dummies to redhat 7 unleashed Some of the howtos are really good, as well. And nothing beats practical experience

The Batbook is THE best reference there is. Go to O'Reilly associates: www.ora.com and search for Sendmail by Bryan Costales. They call it the Batbook because it has a picture of a bat hanging upside down on the cover. Also, if there are some good, basic system admin books out there, let me know. Considering all these requirements, the O'Reilly CD bookshelf series would be worth looking at (although the choice of dead tree books is perhaps not ideal). I constantly refer to mine (UNIX, Perl and Networking).
