Lets try again. Hi All, I've included a URL for a site that has lists all the currently available speccy emulators for many platforms, no doubt most of you emulator freaks already know about this place. I use a linux emulator called spectemu. In my opinion this is the best speccy emulator as far as accuracy of emulation is concerned for any platform. On my previous P75 machine the X-windows and svgalib versions ran beautifully. Both video and sound are smooth, borders are emulated in both windowed and console mode. It will load .tap files so you get the familiar blue and yellow loading pattern with sound if you are feeling nostalgic, but it also supports all the other usual formats such as .sna and .z80 for instant loads. For the X window version it also comes with a full colour picture of the speccy keyboard which can be displayed on the screen next to the emulator window, and best of all the keys on the image responde to key strokes! This is very useful if you have forgotten the layoutof the speccy keyboard. The latest version supports joysticks too. It comes in many flavours (not ms windows though), if you are using an intel _base_d x86 machine, then there is a machine coded version of the emulator, so it is very fast. You can download the source code, which is very quick and easy to compile or there are precompiled rpm versions. I really can't praise this emulator enough as far as emulation accuracy is concerned. Oh, the URL is:
